Andreas is a Principal in the Infrastructure Group San Francisco and is leading several multi disc underground infrastructure projects across the region in delivery and pursuit phase. Before moving to Americas in September 2020 Andreas was based with Arup in Singapore and the Tunnelling Leader for the South East region and Australasia Tunnel Skills Leader. He is Project Director and Technical Director for design of several large scale Underground Infrastructure Projects. Andreas is a highly capable engineer and a skilled manager of people. He has worked on a variety of large scale infrastructure and tunnelling projects around the world in his career and brings strong communication, organisational and leadership qualities to the teams he works with. Along with his technical expertise, he has experience of implementing construction strategies and managing large teams on complex multi-site projects. Furthermore, his technical knowledge enables him to design and incorporate technically complicated elements to the works enabling the safe, sustainable and economic construction of the projects. Andreas has experience in: •Leading multi-disciplinary teams on large scale underground construction projects in design and execution phase •Developing and leading high performing teams •Digital Design (Automation, Data Driven Design and AI) •Working with Contractors on large scale design and built tenders and projects to value engineer efficient solutions •Developing feasibility studies for government clients •Project management, design management and underground structures design on major projects from feasibility through to construction •Design and construction of all types of tunnels (pipe-jacking, cut-and-cover, TBM and mined) in ground conditions ranging from very soft soils to hard rock •Preparation of large scale tender and contract documents •Construction contract administration for major projects •Large diameter TBM and mined tunnel experience •Independent design checking and peer review of TBM bored tunnel and mined tunnel construction
