Extensive knowledge and experience of the international resource industry gained in senior management roles across organisations from small to the largest. Activities have included worldwide marketing and trading of bulk raw materials and logistics from mine / smelter to discharge port. Carried departmental responsibilities and managed teams. Experience includes evaluation, planning and start-up of new projects in Australia and elsewhere. General Management: Reporting to CEO and interacting at ASX board level and equivalents. Leadership and management of marketing, logistics and administration teams up to 20 with strong commitment to team development and HSE. Setting and execution of strategy. Improvement and oversight of process and governance and risk management. Management of mergers & acquisitions. Marketing and Trading: Particular focus on marketing of metallurgical and thermal coal. Also experience in iron ore, manganese, zinc, steel, scrap and mineral sands. Proven ability and demonstrated special interest in development and front-line negotiation of sales transactions. Drove outcomes that assisted companies to meet and exceed goals. Key role in global market pricing and restructuring. Optimisation of Resources & Logistics: Evaluation, planning and start-up of new and existing mines. Optimisation of mine profitability by long and short term planning of production, blending of products from multiple mines and rationalising logistics through to port. Structuring of Joint Ventures, Preparation of Offtake Agreements: Formation of new joint ventures and preparation of offtake agreements. Stakeholder Management: Maintenance of constructive internal and external relationships through phases of extreme commercial stress and major structural change. Externals have included a wide range of customers, owners and joint venture partners.
