I am a partner in the Disputes & Investigations group of international law firm, Allens. I specialise in all forms of commercial litigation and investigations in Australia, including for offshore clients. I am a class actions specialist and co-lead Allens' class action practice. My class actions experience includes defending a broad range of class actions including - shareholder class actions for Aristocrat, Leighton Holdings and QBE; the bank fees class action for Westpac; the Takata airbags class action for Nissan; various financial product class actions for The Royal Bank of Scotland, CBA and Westpac; a superannuation class action for former NAB subsidiaries MLC Nominees and NULIS; and the FX cartel class action for Citibank. I was also appointed by the Supreme Court of NSW as independent expert to advise class members who had to choose between two competing class actions. I also advise on class action risk, and write and present extensively on issues relating to class actions. On the investigations side, I have extensive experience in assisting clients to respond to regulatory investigations and to conduct internal investigations (such as, for example, insider trading and foreign corrupt practices). Most recently, I have been acting for a global investment bank in the investigations into alleged manipulation of BBSW and FX reference rates. I also act for NSW government agencies in a broad range of contexts including contractual disputes, inquiries, investigations and responding to parliamentary resolutions. Outside the office, I enjoying experimenting with home decorating (ie learning the hard way), travelling whenever I can and time with my dog.
