The Australian Department of Agriculture works to sustain the way of life and prosperity of all Australians. The department is responsible for developing policy advice and providing services to improve the productivity, competitiveness and sustainability of Australian agriculture, fisheries, forestry and related industries. The department also helps people and goods move in and out of the country while managing the risks to the environment and animal, plant and human health.

Following extensive experience as a principal legislation and policy specialist, and time working in safety in the utilities, health, government (all levels), aviation and mining industries, Michele continued to apply and develop her strategic and operational skills and knowledge through voluntary Board work with a number of NGOs, in which she has held positions of Secretary, Treasurer, and Chair. Volunteering in these positions in addition to consulting experience have enhanced Michele’s holistic approach to business improvement and her practical application of systems and governance, industrial relations, human resources, finance, strategy, and policies and procedures. Michele holds a Bachelor of Commerce (IR, HRM, and Politics and Public Policy).
