Richard has spearheaded the company’s evolution since joining WestWayne as President & CEO in 2006. He rebranded the once regional player as 22Squared, which has quadrupled in size with new clients, new service offerings, and new talent. He recently led the expansion of the organization into a portfolio of brands, with the creation of a new parent company - Guided by Good - to complement 22Squared with two new units: Trade School, which creates innovative, high quality, content at scale and Dendro, an upstream strategic consulting arm. Richard has driven the fiercely independent agency with a blend of startup passion and innovation ethos. He has always placed people at the center, believing that collaboration and shared values are the driving force behind business success - which ultimately led to the creation of Guided by Good. The 4A’s named Richard one of the 100 People Who Make Advertising Great, and the AMA recognized him as Marketer of the Year. Prior to joining 22squared, he served as Managing Director of FCB/San Francisco, was on the start-up team who launched the Internet search company Infoseek, helped usher in an era of explosive growth at AOL, and managed global business development as a consultant for eBay. Richard’s unique ability to cultivate talent, culture, and creativity, makes him unique among today’s new breed of visionary leaders.
