How We Compared VoilaNorbert and Anymail Finder

We ran both tools against the same 5,000 LinkedIn contacts for our benchmark, split between small companies (under 500 employees) and large (500 and above). Every returned email was validated by ZeroBounce and BounceBan.

We measured two things:

• Coverage: How many emails did each tool return? A tool that finds nothing can't bounce, so raw find rate matters as much as deliverability.

• Deliverability: Of the emails returned, what share were confirmed deliverable, and how many deliverable emails does that leave you with from the same list?

The two problems compound. A tool with lower coverage but very high accuracy at least gives you a small, clean list. A tool with lower coverage and a 14% bounce rate gives you a small list you still have to clean before it's safe to send.

Verdict: Anymail Finder returns about twice as many deliverable emails from the same input, at a fraction of the bounce rate.

VoilaNorbert vs Anymail Finder: Catch-All Email Handling

A catch-all server accepts mail for any address at a domain, so a standard check can't tell whether a specific inbox exists. Catch-all domains are common at larger companies, and they're where most email finders lose either coverage or accuracy.

Anymail Finder verifies individual mailboxes on catch-all domains. If it confirms the address, it's returned as valid. If it can't, the search comes back as not found and costs nothing, so an unconfirmed catch-all never reaches your list or your bill.

VoilaNorbert's pricing page says it counts "only successful email founds", but it doesn't say how lower-confidence catch-all results are treated. If your list is heavy on larger companies, check how those results are labeled and billed before you send to them.

Verdict: Anymail Finder gives you a clear answer on catch-all domains: a verified email, or nothing to pay for.
