I grew up in the heart of the black belt in Marion, Alabama on a fourth generation cattle and catfish farm where I learned that hard work and education are two of the best qualities someone could endure. Having a strong agricultural background, I also had the drive for agriculture. I graduated high school from Southern Academy in 2013 with a class of 18 people. My grandad and dad are both Auburn College of Agriculture graduates and have orange and blue running through their veins. Knowing the production side of agriculture while in high-school, I wanted to learn the business side while attending college. Once going to a college visit at Auburn, I noticed that there was an Agricultural Business major. After applying and being accepted to Auburn University, I was very nervous. My next step in life was going to be huge. The College of Agriculture took me in and transitioned me to be one of their own. Being involved in the college for the four years has opened many doors. Becoming an Ag Ambassador my senior year was by far my most memorable experience throughout college. Being able to inform future and current students about the College of Agriculture and to give back to the college that has given me so much over the years is something that I gladly enjoy. My future goal is to work in agricultural lending while helping many farmers and ranchers by providing loans and financing.
