Do you recall the person who asked you, during a casual conversation, a question that stopped you in your tracks and changed a decision, or perhaps, your life, professionally and personally? I do. The two questions asked of me continue to serve as my compass.Those questions led me to Vistage; first as a member, and now, as a Vistage Chair. As a Vistage member, I recall the insight, accountability, and wisdom that I gained and that I would not have found anywhere else. Our Group of CEOs and business owners challenged, encouraged, and held one another accountable in a positive and trusting environment. Together, we grew our businesses, set new goals and worked through the challenges of managing people, economic obstacles, competitive disruption and the elusive topics of scalability and personal well-being. During this time, I tested two core beliefs critical to business success:A company is only as great as its leader, so that leader must strive constantly to get better. When you are in a group of exceptional people who also lead companies, all with unique experiences, the ideas, suggestions & I must include the making of fewer mistakes is phenomenal!These two core beliefs inform my work. Today, my mission is to change the lives of 100 business owners and CEOs in Houston.Our Vistage Group is a diverse team of Houston’s leading CEOs & business owners, focused on growing their businesses, finding top talent, building a great culture and continually improving both professionally & personally. These CEOs & business owners range from small businesses with less than ten employees to multi-million dollars companies, working throughout the country.
