My teaching philosophy within the university environment attends to student centred learning using the collaborative potential of teamwork and shared learning spaces. In particular, I have • designed, developed a working prototype for adults preparing for university education, ie a computer-based self-diagnostic testing program • designed, developed and implemented self-reflective practices in o teamwork for cross-cultural and cross-discipline teams o virtual team working and relationship building o first year time management • designed, developed and implemented communication and social practices for IT students to build student understandings in theoretical based courses, such as the ITEE program in Human Computer Interaction • designed and researched student practices in learning to program as a distance student • supervised research in teaching and learning environments for novice learners, both for school leavers and adult populations
