With a 20 year career in financial services spanning retail, commercial, and investment banking, I have held a broad range of roles and responsibilities that give me a unique perspective on the industry. I have been at the forefront of data and digital transformation from the earliest days of my career and been deeply involved in industry transformation as a contributing member of the IETF, board member at large of ICANN, representing the banking industry to HM Treasury and chairing the Bank of England’s strategic Transforming Data Collection board. I also have extensive experience in working with government agencies, regulators and elected officials both in terms of representing my firm as well as representing the views of industry more broadly. Having started my career in the design and media industry, I transitioned to the financial sector to help banks adapt to the digital world and expand their business on to the internet. Over the course of my career I have held roles in technology, operations, strategy, business development and innovation and this unique mix of skills and experience gives me a unique perspective from which to successfully drive business outcomes and leverage technology. Straddling business and technology, I am frequently asked to speak at conferences, received Tech-Exec’s cross industry Business Leader’s Data Leader of the Year award, am included in DataIQ’s Top 100 Influential People in Data list, Chair of the Bank of England’s strategic transformation board and sit on Gartner’s Advisory Board for the CDO Community.
