I have a unique background of educational degrees, professional experiences, and athletic involvement. As a former NCAA collegiate runner, I value exercise and the importance it has on health and wellness. Because fitness and nutrition are closely entangled, I majored in bio-nutrition and achieved a bachelor's degree in Dietetics. Seeing the vast number of people with chronic diseases, I chose to continue my educational career in the field of nursing. My nursing specialty quickly developed in the field of cardiology. I was able to apply my clinical experiences in the classroom setting as I returned to school and earned my masters and doctorate degrees. While achieving theses degrees, I developed a real appreciation and love for clinical application of evidence-based practice and research.
