Uday Baldota is the Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of Taro Pharmaceutical Industries, a NYSE listed multi-national pharmaceutical company. A multidisciplinarian, Uday applies his expertise in various domains of the organization to synthesize long-term, winning plans to deliver high-quality pharmaceuticals for global markets. As a leader who recognizes the potential in each individual, Uday not only specializes in building world-beating teams, but also in crafting and executing a compelling vision. In his personal capacity, Uday is a startup investor and advisor. He is also on the Board of Schrocken Inc. A seasoned professional in the pharmaceutical industry, Uday has spent over two decades working in leading Indian and international organizations across multiple functions. Prior to joining Taro Pharmaceuticals in 2017, Uday served as the Chief Financial Officer of Sun Pharma, which owns over 75% of Taro Pharmaceuticals. Uday held several leadership positions at Sun Pharma, and was responsible for building and transforming the Finance team from operational support alone to strategic business partnership. Having spent 20 years at Sun, he led Sun Pharma’s acquisition of Ranbaxy and delivered $300 million in synergies, and acted as the external communications face of the company. Before Sun, Uday began his career with several successful stints in Accenture & Lafarge Holcim. Uday has been recognized for his outstanding work as a Chief Financial Officer, receiving several honors and awards from Institutional Investor and CNBC. He holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and a Chemical Engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
