Growing up in Seattle, the same hometown of Starbucks, Microsoft, Amazon, Nintendo, REI and T-Mobile, I learned quickly the value of marketing, advertising and branding. This has what makes me a unique candidate--I am a customer, end-user and brand evangelist. I understand products and advertising from the consumer point of view, which has helped me to develop dynamic and successful strategies.|After 18 years in the Seattle area, I decided to move away for college...a quick five hour-drive south on I-5 to the University of Oregon in Eugene. I spent the most amazing four years learning about the magazine journalism industry (my major), rooting on my Ducks and developing a love for all things media and pop-culture. Going to Nike founder and CEO Phil Knight's alma mater certainly was inspiring and influential, and it is my goal to one day work for Wieden + Kennedy on Nike campaigns.|Upon graduation, I again felt it was time for a change of scenery and moved to Boston without a job lined up or a friend to meet me at the airport. Moving to an unfamiliar city where I'm required to start from scratch has made me incredibly independent and inventive. While my college years taught me about team work and collaboration, this past year-and-a-half has taught me to explore nontraditional methods for establishing both my career and my life from what I came here with: nothing.|This coming May, I will be graduating from Boston University Metropolitan College with a Masters in Advertising. I recently worked as a Brand Associate for the Brand Marketing team at TripAdvisor, and I am excited to continue my career in the great city of Boston!
