I continue to be dedicated to promoting GIS technology in County government, and in expanding the reach and utility of GIS in County decision support. I'm driven by the dream that perhaps one day the use of GIS at the County will be so widespread and easy to use that people won't think about it, in much the same way that the web browser today is just another tool. I am also very interested in applying best practices in IT to organizational GIS implementation, including newly acquired knowledge and skills from training I received in the ITIL framework.Specialties: I am a geographer by training, with interests ranging from environmental conservation, GIS, cartography, and remote sensing to climatology, vegetation geography, cultural ecology, historical geography, and environmental perception. I've applied my skills in geography and GIS to a number of challenges, primarily in State and Local government, ranging from environmental topics, to emergency planning and public safety support.
