The Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) began providing electricity to customers on December 31, 1946. SMUD generates, transmits and distributes electric power to over 500,000 residential and commercial customers within a 900-square-mile service area that includes Sacramento County and a small portion of Placer County. SMUD's vision is to be the community's preferred supplier of electricity and energy services. Its mission is to meet the electricity and energy-services needs of customer-owners safely, dependably, economically and in an environmentally responsible manner while providing value to the community.

As an elected official and a working professional, I have the unique background of energy and health care expertise, strategy, governance and executive leadership coupled with an extensive technical background. I was elected to the Sacramento Municipal Utility District Board of Directors in November 2008 and re- elected in 2012. I am honored to serve as President of the Board for 2016.I have spent my career working for some of the country’s largest and most prestigious organizations. While working at Deloitte and Accenture, I served as a Trusted Advisor to C-Level executives and consulted on top priority technology and strategy projects. I analyze difficult problems, provide reasonable and plausible solutions while executing at the highest level of efficiency. Large, complex, multi site, multi faceted projects have been my specialty. Along with providing technology and project management expertise, I have managed and provided oversight for several hundred million dollar+ projects.
