I can talk about my projects all day long and bore everyone to tears. It's the transformation that these projects initiate, support and updraft that is really exciting to me. The projects however, do not define themselves. Listening to our people's pain points while they struggle towards their vision of a future state is what kick's off a frenzy of defining the problem(s). Being intimate with our infrastructure, culture and decision making process allows any innovator the opportunity to shape solutions. Connecting the well-defined problem with potential solutions builds trust and buy-in. The rest is the repetitive hard work that shapes an MVP and lays out experimentation and discovery until results materialize. It helps to have years of diverse experiences and disciplines to lay practicality over the framework of innovation. It also helps to deliver expected and unexpected wins to the organization on a regular basis. My job is to consistently lay down ideas and massage them to life. The more contributions - the more successes. Oh and the failures rack up as well but failures are also part of my job and I Love My Job. It's not about controlling transformation. Keeping steady on the throttle and increasing field of vision to spot opportunities and obstacles. Being innovative is being human.
