SEAKR Engineering (www.SEAKR.com) is a world-leading provider of advanced state-of-the-art electronic avionics for space applications. More than ninety of these units have launched with all having met or exceeded mission objectives. SEAKR's leading edge space avionics include IP routers as well as software-defined radios, high-performance payload processors, modular spacecraft avionics, and solid state recorders.

Director of Independent Research and Development (IRAD) and Technical Fellow at SEAKR Engineering. SEAKR is a privately held ~500 person company that designs, manufactures, and tests, complex electronic systems for satellite applications. The identification and programmatic direction of R&D investments is my primary responsibility at SEAKR. I am also responsible for developing and maintaining technology roadmaps for technologies critical to SEAKR product lines. The R&D activities are periodically reviewed for relevance to customer needs and are maximized by forming joint development activities with strategic partners and key suppliers to achieve high return on the IRAD investments. The growth and development of the SEAKR intellectual property portfolio is a key portion of my work with a focus on the identification and development of invention disclosures. I interact directly with executive staff in dispositioning invention disclosures. Freedom to operate reviews and IP risk management activities are led by myself in close collaboration with subject matter experts and external legal resources. I also serve on the company export compliance group. My technical background includes defining and implementing strategies for the space qualification of microelectronics including Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) electronics. A specific focus is on the qualification of high density commercial memories (DRAM, NAND, and other technologies) along with commercial processors and mixed signal devices for use in space applications. My research activities have included Single Event Effect (SEE) measurements and mitigation strategies, along with component qualification strategies, in complex commercial component technologies including ASICs and FPGAs.
