David is well-respected thought leader in financial industry technology with over 30 years of experience, leading some of Wall Street’s top institutions. He has invested in and founded a number of start-ups including R3, LiquidityEdge LLC, a successful UST treasury broker, and LedgerEdge, the world's first fully regulated, DLT-enabled trading platform for corporate bonds. He continues to invest in and support several start-ups with a primary focus on further development of the R3 Corda ecosystem. R3’s Corda is the leading private permissioned distributed ledger and tokenization platform powering multi-party workflows in regulated markets. Since 2015, David has grown the company of over 300 employees in 13 countries and has built a thriving ecosystem of more of more than 250 diverse firms building on and supporting the platform globally. Based on his established expertise in the distributed ledger technology and start-up space, David also founded LedgerEdge, a corporate bond technology venture. David’s pioneering role in the industry has been recognized consistently, recently being acknowledged as one of the top twenty most influential in crypto. David is recognized for having played a significant role in the adoption of electronic trading in the global OTC derivatives and securities industry. Since launching his first electronic trading system in 1995 David has been involved in launching electronic trading solutions in over 20 different asset classes globally. David served for ten years as the CEO of Electronic Broking at ICAP Plc, the world's largest interdealer broker, where he led the BrokerTec fixed income and EBS foreign exchange platforms. Prior to ICAP, David was co-owner and CEO (Americas) of Prebon Yamane. David continues to serve on multiple boards in the fintech space. David is active in a number of charities through his Rutter Family Charitable Trust—most notably, he is a well member of Charity Water, which pays administration expenses of the charity, so 100% of contributions go to providing clean water to those that need it the most.
