Precision BioSciences, Inc., a biotechnology company, engages in developing and commercializing therapeutics and services based on genomic molecular biology.

I have more than 25 years' experience in the medical field, ranging from bioabsorbable tissue engineering scaffolds to lipid nanoparticles and complex oligonucleotides. My specialty is taking new products from the point of conception all the way through to first-in-man dosing, and finding creative ways to do so efficiently and quickly while still maintaining quality. I am a big believer in the principles of Quality by Design (QBD), and find that resources spent wisely up front in a project often pay dividends many times over as a project progresses through its lifecycle. I use statistical design of experiments (DOE) and other response surface methods to build an understanding of the relationship of processes to product, to identify key process variables that drive critical quality attributes. But you can't control what you can't measure. Analytical methods are core to any technical program and can't be left as an afterthought. I have experience managing analytical development programs, both internally and through CMO's, encompassing a wide variety of physicochemical methods. I get excited by working with smart people to tackle interesting problems. My hope is that I will be able to participate in the development of a drug, device, or product that will profoundly improve people's lives.
