15 years of experience working at colleges and universities with a passion for career development. I currently serve as the Assoc. Director of Career Services at Portland State University where my mission is to bring career development and job readiness education to as many students and alumni as possible. I believe that career development belongs as a central component of all academic programs and that faculty can improve employment outcomes by encouraging exploration and reflection on career goals. As a counselor I help students to identify and articulate their interests/ values/needs and identify the next steps necessary to find the information and experience they need to reach their goals. As a manager it is my responsibility to create the conditions necessary for others to do their best work in supporting student success.
