The Paulson Institute is a “think and do tank” that promotes sustainable growth and environmental protection in China and the United States.

Dr. Kevin Mo is the Managing Director of Paulson Institute Beijing Representative Office, in charge of climate, energy and sustainable urbanization. He has more than 25 years' experience in strategizing and implementing climate and energy policies in both the U.S. and China. He currently also serves as the Senior Director of EPIC China (Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago). Prior to joining the Paulson Institute, Dr. Mo was the director of Energy Foundation’s China Buildings Program, director of international sustainable buildings project at Natural Resources Defense Council, and lecturer at Tsinghua University's School of Architecture. He is currently serving on World Green Building Council's Board of Directors. He has served as Committee Member of China Green Building Council, Steering Committee Member of the U.S. team for U.S.-China CERC-BEE (Clean Energy Research Center-Building Energy Efficiency), Senior Advisor of China’s National Technical Committee to Building Energy Efficiency Standards, Leadership Council Member of China-U.S. Energy Innovation Alliance, International Advisor to Global Building Performance Network, Technical Advisor to UNEP-SBCI (United Nations Environment Programme-Sustainable Building and Climate Initiative). He was elected to Top 10 Green Motivators in 2017 by China Real Estate News. In 2007, a U.S. DOE-commissioned national energy efficiency housing award program under his management won the U.S. Energy and Environmental Building Alliance's 25th Anniversary Legacy Award. He also received the 2nd place of Science and Technology Progress Award from China's Ministry of Culture in 1995 for a feasibility study on China's National Center for the Performing Arts (opened in 2007 for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games). He received his Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University, a master's degree from Tsinghua University, and a bachelor's degree from Zhejiang University.
