Our Legacy: Where we’ve been. Where we’re going. In 1927 we were simply Dallas Methodist Hospital, a nonprofit community hospital founded by Methodist ministers and civic leaders and placed in the heart of our city’s underserved neighborhoods. Today, Methodist Health System has 45 health facilities, including more than 40 Methodist Family Health Centers and Medical Groups and other specialty clinics. Our service area stretches from Mansfield to Waxahachie to McKinney, covering a population of more than a million. Healing then and now. We were created as a healing ministry, and healing is still our calling. From our volunteers greeting people with a smile to our clinicians caring for our patients, we’ve always been deeply committed to our community’s health.
