I am a senior scientist at the National Research Council Canada with over 60 refereed publications in combustion and fuels technology. Prior to joining NRC, I was a Defence Scientist with the Department of National Defence working in the areas of engine diagnostics and ship noise management. My experience encompasses research and development, facilities development and project management. In October 1998, I joined NRC to investigate fuel property effects on compression ignition engines employing conventional diesel and advanced combustion strategies. More recently, I have been performing research studies to reduce the risks associated with increasing the renewable content in Canadian transportation fuels. Since 2012, I have been a Technical Lead for the Bioenergy Program with responsibility for addressing fuel-power plant compatibility issues.
