I love telling stories, herding cats, performing daring feats of organization, and being creative and analytical at the same time. I've spent the last eight years doing all of those things at NEA, one of the world's largest and most active venture capital firms, where I get to work alongside some of the most terrifyingly smart, passionate, driven and inspiring people I've ever known. As Marketing Partner and head of global marketing and communications, I lead NEA's branding, content, and public relations activities as well as a range of portfolio services initiatives. Our team partners with tech and healthcare companies across NEA's 300-plus-strong portfolio, delivering strategic counsel, tactical support, and a host of programs, events and resources. Since I joined NEA in 2007 as the first in-house communications staff, the firm's committed capital has more than doubled to nearly $17B across all funds with investing activities on five continents. I'm based in DC but turn up in Silicon Valley at least once a month and elsewhere as duty calls.Before joining NEA, I worked on corporate branding, digital media and communications at MedImmune (acquired by AstraZeneca in 2006). Before that (when I was still a Midwesterner), I held a variety of communications and project management roles at The Kroger Co. and The E. W. Scripps Company, spanning digital communications, business analysis and e-commerce. I began my career at The Cincinnati Enquirer after earning a bachelor’s degree in English/Journalism at Miami University.Weekends are sacred, except when they're not, and usually find me hanging with my kiddos, practicing pilates or yoga, and playing an occasional game of tennis. I say 'yes' more than I should and wouldn't have it any other way, especially when it comes to my kids' schools. I serve on the board of Thrive D.C., an organization committed to preventing and ending homelessness.
