Northwest Community Hospital is a world class medical provider and is an approved Cancer Center, according to standards set by the Committee on Approvals of the Commission on Cancer (COC). This hospital is among the best 50 medical centers in the nation for the treatment of cancer and digestive disorders, according to a study by U.S. News & World Report. In the magazine’s July 17, 2006 “America’s Best Hospitals issue, the hospital was ranked 37th in the country for cancer services and 43rd for its Gastroenterology Center. All of our physicians are academically oriented and board certified. We utilize the latest techniques available, including intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), stereotactic radiosurgery with the Cyberknife system, three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy, and both low dose rate and high dose rate brachytherapy for treatment of a variety of cancers. We intentionally practice using a multidisciplinary approach to cancer care, realizing that optimal care for patients often requires the expertise of other oncologic specialists and surgeons. We believe in using the latest technology to improve the care of our cancer patients with a compassionate approach that adresses the whole patient.
