Moore Capital Management is a private, multi-billion dollar investment management firm with 250 employees and offices in New York, London, Washington DC and Boston. The private equity group of Moore Capital Management invests in growing companies and private equity funds, with specific focus on Information Technology and an emphasis on storage, network infrastructure and enterprise software. Louis Bacon is a conservation philanthropist and the founder and Chairman of Moore Capital Management, LP established in March 1989. Mr. Bacon is also the Chairman of The Moore Charitable Foundation which he instituted in 1992, and supports conservation non-profits that work to ensure the preservation of land, water and wildlife habitats for future generations. Mr. Bacon’s recognition for his life-long commitment to conservation includes several honors, including the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership (TRCP) Lifetime Conservation Achievement Award, the Audubon Medal, the Chairman’s Leadership Award from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and the Land Trust Alliance President’s Award. A native of North Carolina, Mr. Bacon earned an M.B.A. in Finance from Columbia Business School and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Literature from Middlebury College. Mr. Bacon serves on the Board of Overseers at Columbia Business School, the Board of Directors of the Foreign Policy Association, and the Leadership Council of the Center for Public Leadership at Harvard Kennedy School. He is a member of the Corporate Fund Board of the Kennedy Center and the Board of Trustees of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Team Foundation.
