Montevallo s Legislatively mandated mission, unique in higher education in Alabama, is to provide to students from throughout the state an affordable, geographically accessible small college public higher educational experience of high quality, with a strong emphasis on undergraduate liberal studies and with professional programs supported by a broad base of arts and sciences, designed for the intellectual and personal growth in the pursuit of meaningful employment and responsible informed citizenship.

KEY SKILLS- Demonstrated project and program planning, organization, and management/budgetary abilities- Excellent oral and written communication skills to develop rapport and relationships- Ability to work independently and with various constituency groups to achieve organizational goals- Capability of handling sensitive information confidentially and adhering to required ethical standards - Ability to think critically while taking into consideration personal and institutional impactLeadership and Administration:- Numerous opportunities to build positions and programs from inception to implementation- Director of Alumni Affairs, McNair Scholars Program, and Undergraduate Research- President of Alabama Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel- President of American Association of University Women - Montevallo BranchData Collection and Analysis:- Completed & submitted annual performance reports required by ED as well as compilation of TRiO grant applications for Upward Bound and McNair Programs- Implemented data collection and analysis of all programs and services of McNair Program from students, faculty, and other relevant constituencies throughout academic year and summer components- Completed mixed methods dissertation research related to at-risk students Budget Management:- Currently oversee the management and processing of the Alumni Association budget and accounts- Managed budgets and accounts for McNair Scholars Program & Undergraduate Research ProgramAcademic Advising, Support, and Collaborations:- Advised McNair Scholars on graduate school selection, application, and success- Provided academic, career, and professional counseling to high school, college, and graduate studentsIdentifying and Serving At-Risk Students:- Provided services for first-generation college, low-income, minority, and adult-returning students- Provided programming and services for at-risk high school students
