My professional career started in the heavy industrial sector, with one of the Nation’s largest general contractors. I was lucky enough for my first project to be a green field Water Treatment Plant in SE Colorado which allowed me to learn many facets of construction hands on. I was able to work in the field with many outstanding tradespeople and see some truly impressive work from start to finish. After five years in Colorado, I accepted a position with one of Wisconsin’s largest general contractors as an Estimator, something I was able to do based on my field experience. Estimating is where I took my previous experiences and knowledge and focused them on garnering new work. Over the course of nearly ten years on the estimating team I had the opportunity to propose on nearly $2B worth of work, garner nearly $800M in new contracts and be involved with some incredible projects and project teams. My current role in Preconstruction for our Industrial Group allows me to use my experience to help setup a project for success for all stake holders in the project. Preconstruction allows me to work on projects in addition to building relationships with Owners and Design Partners, managing the estimating process, and working with subcontractors and tradespeople to ensure project success.
