David Foster is the Vice President of Research and Development at Metabolon, Inc. He is a visionary leader with foundations in science, engineering, and entrepreneurship that have influenced his impact on the company. One of his first initiatives at Metabolon involved scaling the company’s core data processing and data management systems to improve business processes and enhance machine learning capabilities. These were critical forward-looking initiatives to scale Metabolon’s metabolomics, lipidomics, and multi-omics research capabilities to support drug development and clinical trial clients. In his current executive leadership role, he drives Metabolon’s R&D strategy encompassing software / Platform Engineering, Data Science, Chemistry, Biology, and Clinical Applications. David has more than 10 years of experience developing analytics tools for complex problems in business and science. He is experienced in starting and scaling teams, software data and science initiatives, and setting company-wide data strategies. Before joining Metabolon, David was the founder and CEO of a startup called Pluribus, where he built a team of programmers and payment industry experts. His business plan and financial projections helped Pluribus win the Duke Alumni Startup Challenge in 2011, and he previously delivered supply chain management solutions used by Fortune 500 companies.
