My name is Vaughn Scott Woodfield Jr. I casually go by Scott. I graduated as a Mechanical Engineer from Washington State University in May 2016. I worked as grocery manager for 9 years, stepped down and eventually left to pursue my interest in science and math in my education. Since then, I have gained technical, mechanical, electrical, and general system troubleshooting experience. I have worked on various projects of extensive skill ranges both in school and work. As an engineer, I am capable of applying my knowledge and experience in new and challenging ways. I am interested in energy systems, specifically renewable energy systems and technology. I am also interested in in automatons and mechanical/electrical control systems. My senior capstone design was sponsored by Boeing and focused on mechanical automation of stowage bins. I have worked on a multitude of various and different projects in my academics and professional career. Project including: - Lift-Assist System for Stowage Bins on Commercial Aircrafts (Senior Capstone Design). - Thrust Testing Platform for Propeller/Motor combos using electronics and software. (Experimental Design) - HVAC design for single floor residential building (Thermal System Design) - Troubleshooting mechanical propulsion systems (e.g. Diesel engines, reduction gears). - Troubleshooting electrical systems (e.g. Alarm systems, motors, generators). - Procurement and Purchasing of various mechanical, electrical, electronic replacement parts and equipment. - Fuel analysis and presentation and proposals for oil and gas industry. - Energy analysis on 16 cylinder diesel engine at various loads. In my personal time I enjoy spending time with my fiance, family, and friends. I am enthusiastic in sketching/drawing, biking, hiking, swimming. I also love football. I'm an optimist and work to maintain a positive composure even in the face of adversity. Below are a few examples of work accomplished through my education.
