Human Resources and Safety Manager

Started with Martin Marietta Materials in 1998 as a Safety Engineer with basic, mining related, safety compliance responsibilities. Responsibilities have increased to include development and implementation of a Safe Behavior Observation process, assisting in development, from an end user's perspective, of a company specific, safety information management tool called the Martin Marietta Safety Center. Serve as team leader for many Internal development and improvement activities including a corporate wide auditing process as well as existing Safety and Benchmarking Audits at a divisional level, and have helped develop our frontline and divisional management teams to become more effective leaders through safe work practices. I am currently the Human Resource Manager within the company where my major responsibilities include, recruiting, employee relations, new hire orientation, employee development, and training. Duties include insuring adherence to company ethics policy, investigation of potential violations, following through to resolution, and management of salaried, hourly-non-union, and organized, hourly personnel, in compliance with these policies. Currently act as a company representative during all contract negotiations with these multiple bargaining units.
