An effective communicator, Lado and his team have put Georgia on the institutional investor map; due to his investor relations efforts, approximately 300 international portfolio investors have invested in 2004-2008 in Georgian equity and debt securities - an impressive level of exposure for a US$13 bn Georgian economy. Most recently, in 2017-2019, Lado served as executive Chairman of 4finance Group S.A., a European digital consumer lender. In 2014-2018, Lado served as a board member and (since May 2015) as Chairman of Bayport Management Limited, a non-bank lender to individuals active in Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America. In 2009-2015, Lado led the modernisation of Bank of Kigali, the largest bank in Rwanda, as its Chairman. Lado is also an active angel/early stage investor in fintech and financial services startups in Europe and his native Georgia; in addition to Raisin, his early-stage fintech investments include GoHenry, Wise and Coinbase, among others.
