I am a Commercial Director operating in the UK Construction and Infrastructure sectors. I report to the Laing O’Rourke (LOR) Group Commercial Director and Infrastructure Managing Director, having worked in various parts of the business since 1990. Current and recent key Clients within my portfolio include HS2, TfGM, United Utilities and Manchester Airport. I am proud to have led Commercial, Procurement, Legal and Finance Teams in the successful delivery of high profile and complex projects such as Manchester Airport Terminal 2 Transformation PP01 (£550m) Manchester Metrolink Phase 3 expansion (£1.2bn), Liverpool One Retail / Mixed Use development (£500m), the Airbus 'super-jumbo' wing factory in Chester (£250m) and the 2002 Commonwealth Games Aquatic Centre. I have also lead the Commercial Function in Business Units. Between 2008 and 2011 I was based in London as the Commercial Director for the LOR Construction South Business Unit. In 2003 - 4, I held a similar position in the establishment of the emerging LOR Liverpool business. In my various roles I have undertaken governance and oversight of Major Projects, Framework Agreements, Alliances, Joint Ventures and Consortia. The Functional Teams I am accountable for are typically 50 FTE on large single Projects and 100 FTE in a Business / Portfolio role. I believe that my leadership style is collaborative, always setting high standards of professionalism and focused on getting results. From 2010 to 2020 I was a Trustee of a Registered Charity which was awarded the Queens Award for Voluntary Service in 2017. I was a STEM Ambassador from 2018 to 2019. I hold a Private Pilot's License.
