Herb J. Wesson III is a Public Relations/Outreach Consultant. With more than fifteen years of professional political involvement, Herb has spearheaded, managed and won candidate and initiative campaigns at both local and state levels. As a consul¬tant for the California State Assembly Speaker’s Office of Member Services (SOMS), 2000-2007. Wesson's extensive knowledge of local, state and national political issues coupled with his ability to manage and supervise cross-functional teams, enabled him to successfully develop, customize and implement unique and highly effective constituent communication and community development strategies for State Assembly Speakers, Fabian Nunez, Robert M. Hertzberg, and Los Angeles Mayor, Antonio Villaraigosa. In 1995, Herb began working closely with elected officials when he joined the “Nate Holden for City Council Re-Election” campaign. Since then, his clients have included California Governor Gray Davis (1998), Carol Liu for State Assembly (2000), Vince Hall for State Assembly (2002), John Edwards for President (2004), Nicole Parra for State Assembly (2004 & 2006), Antonio Villaraigosa for Mayor (2005), Alliance for a Better Cali¬fornia (2005), Kevin de Leon for State Assembly (2006), Laura Richardson for Congress (2007), Warren Furutani for State Assembly (2007), and Parks for Supervisor (2008). Herb also serves as a board member for the KHEIR Center (Korean Health Education Information Research). KHEIR is a broad-based agency which provides primary healthcare and human services to the underserved and uninsured residents of Southern California. In addition, Wesson also serves as Chairman on the Board of Directors for COMMUNITY YOUTH SPORTS AND ARTS FOUNDATION (CYSAF), a licensed group home, in South Los Angeles, for boys, ages 12-17, who are considered “at risk” and who exhibit behavioral, emotional and social problems.
