I am a enthusiastic technology professional and evangelist who is comfortable with all aspects of technology, but who also has a full understanding of Service delivery and business benefit. I interact well at all levels within a business bringing my extensive knowledge and experience of the IT industry to bear in a way that is understood by all. Since 2002 I have worked in senior IT management positions ensuring that business makes the best use of the right technology. My motivation is to apply my knowledge to find new and unusual ways to apply technology to business problems in search of a competitive edge, looking always for the maximum business benefit from current and future investments. I believe that the provision of effective services requires understanding of current and future consumer technologies. These can be used to provision services that deliver the right corporate outcomes whether these be provisioned in house or via cloud services. I believe that the future of corporate IT does not lie in control, but in providing services that are so good not using them is too much trouble. Users should be empowered to find their most effective way of working on whatever platform suits them. The carrot is more powerful than the stick in an age where IT services can be purchased from anywhere.
