Mr. Alfred C. Salvato serves as Senior Vice President for Corporate Finance and Chief Investment Officer for Thomas Jefferson University (Thomas Jefferson University/Thomas Jefferson University Hospital), an academic health center in Philadelphia, PA. In this capacity he serves as an integral member of the senior leadership team and works closely with the finance, audit, and investment committees of the Board of Trustees. As the University' Chief Financial Officer, he is responsible for the corporate finance operations, which includes the controller’s office, treasury management, budgeting office, sponsored research accounting, financial system administration and various ancillary operating units. As Chief Investment Officer he oversees the management of the Long-term pool, DB and DC pension plans, working capital portfolios and other managed portfolios totaling approximately $2.7 billion. Along with his asset management duties, he administers the University’s debt portfolio and has been team lead on the issuance of approximately $1.3 billion of tax-exempt/taxable financing. In his life outside of Jefferson, he actively serves the public and business communities. He currently serves on the Turner Investment Partners Mutual Funds Board of Trustees and has served as a member of the Investment Committee of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and as a Trustee of the District 1199C National Union of Hospital & Health Care Employees Pension Fund. In addition, he sits on client advisory boards for BNY Mellon, TIAA/CREF, and J.P. Morgan and also sits on valuation committee for several private market LP's. He holds a degree in economics from Villanova University.
