Debbi Coleman has been in workforce development for years and was certified in 2003. Debbi has experienced putting together community and outreach programs for the University of Michigan, Michigan Works!, Hope Network and other organizations. Her current passion is Wheels to Work and GoLux Transportation Programs. She worked with JPTA, Work First, JET, WIA, WIOA and No Worker Left Behind. Additionally, she was the force behind the development of Wheels to Work, a hub based employment transportation program in West Michigan. Debbi has worked with NIT as Contract Coordinator connecting schools together and developing articulation agreements. Debbi was an original and core member of the University of Michigan’s M-Quality Programs and chair of the Clinic Quality Improvement Team. Debbi has specialized in getting communities together to meet the needs of its citizens through programs such as On-the-job Training, Transitional Work Experiences, Enclaves, Work Groups, Employer Solutions Academies, M-Quality, free health clinics or Wheels to Work. These programs connect thousands of employers to talent. She has spoken at national conventions on Customizing Hiring for Employers and Incorporating a Diverse Human Capital, in addition to Hiring Those with Criminal Histories or Disabilities. Debbi was recognized for her efforts by winning the National Quality in Human Resource Practice award from CUPA.
