I am a licensed mental health professional specializing in individual, relational, and group therapy with adults and adolescents. My areas of interest include: adolescence and emerging adult issues; adult children of alcoholics; childhood abuse, neglect, and recovery; chronic illness and chronic pain; depression and anxiety; eating disorders; grief and loss; LGBTQ concerns and coming out; complex trauma and PTSD; self esteem; sex and sexuality. I work with folks from a variety of backgrounds and incorporate your unique experiences. I am aware and sensitive of the role and impact of ability/disability, racial/ethnic identity and background, and gender and sexual identity and orientation. I have 10+ years of experience in the non-profit world and extensive experience in program development. I have served with AmeriCorps*VISTA and City Year national volunteer programs and worked internationally in West Africa counseling youth. Locally, I have worked with Communities in Schools (CIS), East Austin College Prep Academy, the Girls Empowerment Network (GENaustin), the Hip Hip Club ATX, Safe Place, Southwest Key, and UT’s Voices against Violence. I hold a Masters of Science in Social Work degree from UT-Austin and a Bachelors of Science in Sociology and Women's Studies from Illinois State University.
