I'm a proven, senior level executive who has overseen and managed a range of strategic communications initiatives focused on new movements in social innovation. I have a proven track record of generating significant visibility for innovative organizations and a passion for working at the intersection of innovation, entrepreneurship and social change. I believe in purposeful, strategic communications that influence perceptions and decisions for the better good. As the senior director of public relations for Goodwill, I enjoy collaborating with our 162 community-based organizations by helping people with disadvantages 'reach their full potential through learning and the power of work.' Many people are familiar with Goodwill’s stores, but are unaware of the extent of Goodwill’s award-winning work as a social enterprise. One of the things that I most enjoy is being a part of Goodwill’s growing involvement in community partnerships. Since 2007, our grant funding from these programs has grown to more than $77 million! Among those that stand out for me is First Lady Michelle Obama’s Joining Forces Initiative for women veterans and their families, which launched Goodwill for America Heroes and their Families, serving more than 3,000 families in its first year. I’m grateful for the opportunity to use my communications expertise to support an organization that serves as a voice for people with disabilities and disadvantages. The icing on the cake has been receiving honors for my contributions to the PR field; knowing that my PR industry colleagues are inspired by my work has been a true honor.
