Growing up in Syracuse, New York, Jim's athletic career at Christian Brother's Academy (CBA) Prep led him to Alabama in 2002, when he accepted a baseball scholarship to attend the University of Montevallo (UM).After graduating from UM with a B.S. in Broadcast Journalism in 2005, Jim moved 30 miles north to Birmingham, where he started J.Anthony Productions, providing online video streaming solutions for a long list of small college athletic programs.Simultaneously, Jim began broadcasting live sporting events for TV networks such as ESPNU.In 2008, he raised capital for his Eporro.com tech startup that successfully connected high school athletes with college coaches. The success of this BETA-test led to the Silicon Valley funding of NextSpex.com, which launched in 2009 with multiple statewide partnerships in AL, LA & GA.In early 2010, Jim joined this new gym in his neighborhood, called Iron Tribe. As the gym grew, Jim and the gym's Founder Forrest Walden, began a friendship that resulted in Jim opening the 2nd-ever Iron Tribe gym just one year after Forrest had opened the first. The two partnered up with Walden as CEO and Cavale as President, to build Iron Tribe into a national brand, after starting the IronTribe Franchise company together in 2012. Over 6.5 years together, Iron Tribe went from a gym in Homewood, AL, to a national fitness brand with more than 40 gyms from Seattle to Miami, and in between. Jim sold his ownership in Iron Tribe and stepped down as President in September 2016, to begin building two new brands in GLOW and Influencer (INFLCR). GLOW is an on demand beauty app that women use to book beauty services that come to their home, office or hotel.
