I'm Christopher, a CPA and finance professional with 30+ years of progressive experience serving in higher education. My passion lies in advancing financial stewardship, long-term planning, data-informed decision making, and collaborating with diverse, cross-functional groups to achieve an organization's vision and goals. I believe in the transformational impact of a liberal arts education, which I see through my spouse who serves as a faculty member in the Psychology Department at Gettysburg College. I'm passionate about accepting opportunities to serve in a leadership capacity with colleagues to develop, champion, and execute strategies to enhance organizational effectiveness, improve operations, and expand, outsource and, at times, cease services. I have a strong track record of increasing financial resources or effectively redeploying them to better advance institutional priorities. My major financing achievements include several complex debt restructurings to achieve the lowest cost of capital, the construction of a state of the art athletics facility, and the expansion of the college union building. My more impactful accomplishments include: The financing and construction of an on-campus daycare center. The center is independently operated, self-sufficient, and cash flow positive to the College. In 2007, I supported the development of a financing plan for the acquisition of the Gettysburg Hotel and repositioning it from a Best Western to an independent boutique hotel. The hotel is the market leader in Gettysburg, and its profits are distributed to the college's endowment. In 2022, I led a cross-divisional academic, operating and financial assessment of an opportunity to partner with the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, which led to the first online masters program in the College's history. In its first year, the program has exceeded enrollment and profitability expectations developed in the business plan. In my spare time, I enjoy sharing my higher education experience and knowledge with others, and giving back to the community. I periodically serve as team member for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. In 2023, I joined the Board of Directors of the Adams County Economic Development Corporation, which develops and implements creative community-based strategies to develop Adams County. Since in 2008, I've served as Treasurer and coach of Gettysburg's American Youth Soccer Organization. I have a strong interpersonal skills. I value ethical and inclusionary leadership, and a healthy work-life balance.
