FMO is a development bank that invests in the infrastructure, manufacturing and services sectors in developing countries.

Annette Berendsen joined FMO’s Private Equity department in March 2005. From 2005-2007 she focused on Europe and Central Asia with a specific focus on Turkey, Ukraine and Russia. Since March 2007 she became Manager overlooking FMO’s equity activities in Europe & Central Asia and Latin America and since January 2010 she has focussed on Africa, first as Manager and later as Principal Investment Officer. Before joining FMO Annette was investment manager in the co-investment team of AlpInvest, a global PE firm with at that time more than EUR 30bn assets under management, and senior associate with ABN AMRO’s corporate finance department, providing capital markets and M&A advise to Dutch corporates.
