I worked my way through college by selling floor covering. First at NIACC in Mason City and then in Waterloo while I went to UNI. My first job was with Carpetland in 1994. After graduating college I decided to stay in the floor covering field. I worked for a local retailer in the Des Moines metro for 4-5 years before deciding to open up a store of our own. So in 2002 a group of us opened Flooring America in Clive. 20 years, and 4 stores later, we are still going strong.
