You will find me to be an insightful, passionate, results oriented Information Technology leader with a 15 year proven track record in providing leadership, vision, innovation, strategic planning, and execution to IT organizations in high-growth global companies. My background is in IT and my area of expertise is Information Security. I was drawn to this area based on what I perceived to be the multiple challenges that businesses encounter when trying to ascertain how much security ‘is enough’. My role is to help companies navigate through that uncertainty, taking a risk based approach to devise a suitable security program based on the company’s risk appetite and tolerance. Many thought leaders speak to the inverse relationship between security and flexibility, and consider one at odds with the other. I subscribe to the notion that you can capitalize on a properly balanced, cost-effective, risk strategy to promote business and drive revenue; for example helping a sales teams leverage a solid security program to use as an asset to close contracts and negotiate best outcomes. As a result of my can-do attitude and flexibility, I have been asked numerous times during my career to take on additional responsibilities over and beyond what might be considered ‘traditional’. I have enjoyed straddling those roles. In every challenge there’s an opportunity and lesson to be learned, and in each instance I have come away a stronger and more learned person – in addition to furthering the cause of my employer.
