I am curious, energetic, adaptable, creative, and love considering unconventional approaches to problem solving. I enjoy tossing around ideas and finding creative solutions that are high energy (risky) and I am intrigued by new possibilities and anything out of the ordinary. I tend to be talkative, enthusiastic, playful, and am generally a fun-loving person. Conversations with me can be very circular as they excitedly move from one topic to the next, making connections and associations. I tend to think that I am slightly unconventional and occasionally bold; I pride myself on being unique and original. I tend to be optimistic, and spontaneous, and I have a strong sense of the possible. For me, life is an exciting drama because I am interested in possibilities and I see significance in all things and prefer to keep lots of options open. For the record, my Myers Brigg Type Indicator (personality type) is ENFP or Extravert, Intuitive, Feeling, Perceptive. I like jazz music (Chick Corea, Keith Jarrett, Miles Davis, Joe Pass, Ella Fitzgerald, Stan Getz, ….) and 70’s/80’s rock (Steely Dan, Little Feat, Mark-Almond, …). I read non-fiction (I love math and astronomy books) and have to physically touch the New York Times daily or I have a breakdown. I meditate every morning when I awake and have to watch the BBC World News in the morning. I love to learn and more importantly I love to share. I still take courses at Wesleyan University towards a MA in Liberal Studies degree and I love to teach. I am passionate about engineering in general and am more passionate about helping the diversity of engineering students. At some point I intend to teach part-time just to percolate my love of the sciences and get the message out that it is OK to be a nerd. I will challenge and debate with anyone that we need more of them if we are ever to change this planet.
