As a natural leader, Mr. Weaver is dedicated to having a positive impact on individuals, communities, and his country. From his business knowledge, he is taking action to ensure new and returning workplace entrants are properly prepared to be successful. Caring for people has been his catalyst for success and the underlying motive to cultivate opportunities for people to live the life of self-sufficiency, which is the American Dream. Mr. James Weaver serves as Campus President of ECPI University, Charleston. In this capacity, he strategically plans initiatives, partnerships, and teams to foster change and build opportunities for students. With his industry-experienced faculty, he develops programs to award STEM+H degrees to military and new-traditional students and offers in-demand certifications. Prior to ECPI University, his progressive career spanned from Adjunct Professor to Regional Vice President with 10+ years at Delta Career Education Corporation. Concurrently, Mr. Weaver is an Executive Officer of the SC Army National Guard. He enrolled in the split training program during high school, which laid the foundation for his success. He is now celebrating 18 years of service with the National Guard. His military career started in the IT field, as he executed all aspects of communication missions. He completed his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees, which led him to be accepted into Officer Candidate School and advancing to an officer. With his tactical decision-making skills and leadership roles in combined arms and joint-force environments, he continues to lead his unit and promote real world training, proper education, and careers with bright outlooks. He advocates that everyone should take advantage of education and work readiness programs; to live the American dream and be self-sufficient.
