Kevin McKenzie, Ed.D is a seasoned senior executive with extensive experience in information technology/systems and is a peer/industry recognized leader in information security. Currently an officer of a Fortune 150 company but his experience covers multiple industries including Higher Education, Medical/Health Care, Federal Information Systems, High Performance Computing, Newspaper Publishing and Retail. Very experienced with regulated environments such as HIPAA, SOX, and PCI and security frameworks such as NIST 800-53, CIS/CSC 20, PCI-DSS, FISMA and ITIL. Awarded the Information Security Executive of Year for all of North America by the Tech Exec Network (T.E.N.) and has also won the prestigious Information Security Leadership Award (ISLA) for the Americas (North, Central and South America) by (ISC)^2. Additionally, in 2017 he was honored by the Clemson University's Young Alumni Council when named as a Roaring 10 Alumni recipient of Clemson University. In addition to his CISO/VP role, Kevin is appointed as a research professor in electrical and computer engineering and lecturer in school of business on information technology, statistics and data analytics for a top 25 public institution. Recent or current courses taught were in Management Information Systems at the graduate and undergraduate level and advanced data analytics and statistics at undergraduate level. Research work and collaboration with other faculty continues in the area of Information Security. He serves or has served on several board of directors or prominent advisory boards for large technology companies and non-profits organizations. Some examples are the National Technology Security Coalition(NTSC), Hook Security Inc., University of Alabama's Culverhouse Cyber Executive Advisory Board, International Consortium of Minority Cybersecurity Professionals (ICMCP), Dell Software Presidents Advisory Board, and Symantec's CISO Advisory Board.
