Versatile media professional with 10+ years of experience. Formerly, the director of emerging media at the Denver Post in which I helped develop strategies related to video content creation for our multiple platforms including denverpost.com and a variety of social media sites and television. I worked with both editorial and advertising managers and directors to ensure that our product was viewed, monetized and marketed. Led video team to regional Emmy Award for overall excellence in 2018. The media landscape changes quickly. I have worked as a reporter, photographer, videographer, editor and director. Through these experiences, I have gained an understanding of what a modern media professional can do across multiple platforms. I led a staff of video-specific journalists to ensure the Denver Post was up to date, prepared for new technology and ahead of the curve in the implementation of these ever-evolving technologies and changes. I speak and teach on topics related to still photography, video strategy and multimedia development to various professional groups, classrooms and within newsrooms. Work has been recognized by various organizations including the Emmy Awards, the NPPA's Best of Photojournalism, the Edward R Murrow Awards, Pictures of the Year International and Colorado Photographer of the Year. Member of Denver Post staff that was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Coverage in 2013 for the Aurora Theater Shooting and the photo staff that was runner up for the 2013 Breaking News Photography Pulitzer Prize for the same shooting.
