Associate Vice President of University Communications and Marketing

The College of Continuing Education (CCE) at Sacramento State has been offering courses, seminars and workshops since 1951. Although times have changed since our founding, we remain committed to serving the community through higher education.

As the Senior Associate Vice President of University Communications, Jeannie Wong oversees communications and marketing for Sacramento State. She is a member of President Robert S. Nelsen's senior leadership team and serves on his Cabinet. She is also an American Leadership Forum Senior Fellow (Class XXIII) and serves on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors for the Sacramento Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce. Under Sr. AVP Wong’s oversight, University Communications manages media relations, crisis communications, multimedia, social media, and brand and visual identity. She also helped conceptualize and develop the award-winning marketing campaign, "Made at Sac State.” In addition, UComm produces a variety of print and online publications as well as a number of videos, signage, a podcast, and advertisements. At the Sacramento Bee, Wong was a member of the upper-management newsroom team and helped guide news and features coverage for both print and online products. Specialties: Highly adept at strategic planning, crisis and reputation management, and media relations, Jeannie Wong is also a seasoned editor and a compelling writer. With excellent interpersonal skills, she is a former journalist with more than 30 years of experience, is well-versed in public relations/marketing and graphics/design concepts, and exceptionally savvy about social media.
