Lourdes Casanova is Senior Lecturer and Academic Director of the Emerging Markets Institute at the Johnson School of Business, Cornell University. She specializes in international business with a focus on emerging markets multinationals. Recognized as one of 2014 and 2015, 50 most influential Iberoamerican intellectuals by Esglobal. Lourdes is a Fulbright Scholar with a Masters Degree from University of Southern California and a PhD from the University of Barcelona. She has been a visiting professor at the Haas School of Business, University of California at Berkeley; Judge Business School, Cambridge University; Latin American Centre at Oxford University, and a consultant at Inter-American Development Bank. Lourdes has directed programs for multinationals including Telefónica, BBVA. Cemex and Brazilian Confederation of Industries. Lourdes has coauthored: "The Political Economy of an Emerging Global Power: In Search of the Brazil Dream", Palgrave Macmillan 2014; "Innovalatino, Fostering Innovation in Latin America", Ariel 2011; and journal articles in the Beijing Business Review, European Business Review, International Journal of Human Resource Management, Business and Politics and Foreign Affairs Latinoamérica. She has also authored: "Global Latinas: Latin America’s emerging multinationals", Palgrave Macmillan 2009. Lourdes is a member of World Economic Forum’s Latin America Global Agenda Council and Competitiveness Lab, the Advisory Committee European Union/Brazil, B20 ICT and Innovation Task Force Los Cabos, as well as INSEAD’s Goldman Sachs 10,000 women. She is a board member of Boyce Tompson Institute, the start-up Documenta, and the Advisory Council of the Tompkins Public Library.
